To make the board, paint wood plaque black and allow to dry. * The playing board can also be made from a 9” square of black foam core instead of the painted wood.
Use ruler to meaure 9 - 2” squares of felt. Cut out squares and position them onto the center of painted plaque in three rows. Leave about ¼” between each square. Remove adhesive backing from each square and carefully stick in place.
Create feet for board by making 4 identical stacks of buttons. Use different sizes of alternating black and white buttons. Glue the buttons together and glue the legs to the bottom corners of the board.
Glue additional buttons around the top edges of the board.
Select buttons to make 5 black and 5 white playing pieces. For black pieces, glue a medium size white button onto a large black button and then glue a small black button to the white button. The black playing pieces should have a black button on top and on the bottom of the stack. For white pieces, glue a medium size black button onto a large size white button and then glue a small white button to the black button. The white playing pieces should have a white button on the top and on the bottom of the stack.
