Supplies:
  • Favorite Findings™ Glitter Buttons: #1451, #1453, #1461, #1459 (1 pkg each)
  • Large sheet craft foam: hot pink
  • Small sheet craft foam: black
  • Black craft boa
  • Assorted grosgrain ribbons and medium rick rack: 8-9 colors
  • Fabric stiffener
  • Plastic drinking straws
  • Hot glue gun and glue
  • Scissors
  • Dinner plate
  • Small bowl
  • Straight pins
  • 10” craft wire
  • Spool of thread
  • Pencil

Instructions:
  1. Pour fabric stiffener into small bowl. Dip ribbon into stiffener. Wrap around length of drinking straw. Hold to straw at each end with straight pin. Wrap 8-10 straws. Let dry overnight.
  2. Trace dinner plate on large craft foam. Draw a + sign on circle, dividing the circle into 4ths. Cut off one ¼ section. Wrap remaining foam into a cone. Glue in place, leaving a small hole at the top.
  3. Trace and cut out 10 circles on black foam using spool as pattern. Glue a large or medium button in the center of each black circle. Randomly glue circles to hat.
  4. Glue boa around bottom of hat.
  5. Loosen and remove ribbons and rick rack from straws. Hold all pieces together. Wrap craft wire around center of bundle and twist tightly. Glue remainder of wires down into top hole of hat.
  6. Glue a few small buttons on curlicues.
Tips:
  • Refer to photo for placement and assembly.
  • When making the bundle of curlicue ribbons, trim some so the bundle has different length ribbons.
