Throw with Bead & Button Fringe Throw with Bead & Button Fringe Throw with Bead
and Button Fringe
Designed by Kim Ballor
Supplies:
  • Fabric Sensations Buttons: #2616 (enough for one every 3” along edge of throw, multiplied by 2 if you want to do both edges)
  • Brown wrap or throw
  • Seed beads: brown, red, turquoise
  • Beading needle and thread
  • Scissors
  • Ruler

Instructions:
  1. Build button pieces (making loops of beads attached to buttons). Thread needle. Attach end of thread to button shank. String 100 brown beads on thread, stitch through button shank. String 80 turquoise beads on thread, stitch through button shank. String 60 brown beads on thread, stitch through button shank. String 40 red beads on thread, stitch through button shank. Knot off on back of button. Repeat for all buttons.
  2. Stitch one button piece to corner of throw. Make brown bead fringe for 3”. Stitch on next button piece. Repeat to cover the entire side.
Tips:
  • Refer to photo for placement of fringe and buttons.
  • Make bead fringe as close or far apart as you desire.
  • To make each fringe: bring needle out of throw at the edge, pick up 23 brown beads on needle and thread. Skipping the first three beads, stitch back through all beads. Pull fringe up to edge of throw. Stitch through throw to next fringe location. Repeat.
  • Would be great at ends of dresser scarf or table runner!
