Designed by Elaine Schmidt
Supplies:
  • Favorite Findings™ Buttons: #500 Big Fun, #1149 Butterfly Dreams, #1196 Mini Fun & #757 Bright Flowers
  • Natural tote bag
  • Satin ribbon: ⅜” green, ⅛” green, ⅜” turquoise, ⅜” hot pink, ⅜” orange
  • White fabric glue or hot glue gun and glue
  • Embroidery floss (color of choice to coordinate)
  • Needle and thread
  • Scissors

Instructions:
  1. Starting at bottom of tote, glue five ⅜” green ribbons on bag to form flower stems. Glue five ⅛” ribbons to form additional stems.
  2. Cut shorter pieces of ⅜” green ribbon, making angled cuts at tops. Glue at bottom of bag for leaves.
  3. Glue ⅜” green and ⅜” pink ribbon across top, forming a border.
  4. Layer a Bright Flower button and a Mini Fun round button. Tie together with floss, knotting on top. Trim floss ends. Repeat four more times. Glue to tops of thin flower stems on bag.
  5. To make ribbon flower petals: Cut a 3” length of ribbon. Without twisting ribbon, bring ends together. Glue ends under button, leaving point to form flower petal. Glue layered Big Fun button and Bright Flower button to center.
Tips:
  • Refer to photo for placement and assembly ideas.
  • Test glue on ribbon to be sure it doesn't soak through when applied.
